On Factorization as Bijection to Finite Sequences
نویسنده
چکیده
We describe mechanisms to emulate multiplicative properties of prime numbers by connecting them to computationally simpler representations involving bijections from natural numbers to sequences and multisets of natural numbers. Through a generic framework, we model interesting properties of a canonical representation of factorization and its simpler equivalents. Among their shared properties, we study the information lost through factorization, we establish a connection to Catalan families. Keywords-sequence and multiset encodings and prime factorization, information loss through factorization, experimental mathematics and functional programming, declarative modeling of computational phenomena, factorization and Catalan families.

A New Bijection between Natural Numbers and Rooted Trees∗
A bijection is defined recursively between the set of natural numbers and the set of finite rooted trees. It is based on the prime decomposition of a natural number and the rank of a prime. This bijection leads naturally to a canonical presentation of rooted trees. For trees in each of two classes, bounds are given for the number of nodes in terms of the number assigned to the tree.
متن کاملTriple factorization of non-abelian groups by two maximal subgroups
The triple factorization of a group $G$ has been studied recently showing that $G=ABA$ for some proper subgroups $A$ and $B$ of $G$, the definition of rank-two geometry and rank-two coset geometry which is closely related to the triple factorization was defined and calculated for abelian groups. In this paper we study two infinite classes of non-abelian finite groups $D_{2n}$ and $PSL(2,2^{n})$...

We discuss how to decide whether a given C-finite sequence can be written nontrivially as a product of two other C-finite sequences.

متن کاملInert Module Extensions, Multiplicatively Closed Subsets Conserving Cyclic Submodules and Factorization in Modules
Introduction Suppose that is a commutative ring with identity, is a unitary -module and is a multiplicatively closed subset of . Factorization theory in commutative rings, which has a long history, still gets the attention of many researchers. Although at first, the focus of this theory was factorization properties of elements in integral domains, in the late nineties the theory was gener...
